Francois Swanepoel
Biography
Francois has been behind the camera and in his darkroom since he was twelve years of age. These days he focuses professionally on commissioned architectural work and artistically on photographing landscapes, people, animals and homoerotic subjects. He runs a guesthouse near Tulbagh, which he and architect Joe De Villiers designed and built.
Exhibitions and Awards
Francois participated in various solo and group exhibitions, locally and internationally, and won various competitions, including:
2008 – Tulbagh Museum Annex and Waverley Hills Wine estate.
2006 – Church Street House, Tulbagh.
2004 – “Sex & Kultuur”, Cape Town, Triangle project.
2002 – “Mail Art” @ Mind’s I Art Space, Pretoria.
2002 – “Bitch” @ the Tina Skukan Gallery, Pretoria.

1988 – South African Arts Association, Pretoria, with Nicolene Swanepoel, Hansie Visage and Pierre van der Westhuizen.
